Job summary

Tutor Me Education LLC in Flagstaff, AZ is seeking a patient GED Course & Test Prep tutor to work one-on-one with an adult student in GED courses at a local community college.

This in-person role focuses on reading strategies, foundational math concepts, and essential computer literacy, with 5 total hours per week across a set schedule to support placement testing and course progress.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with GED Course and Test Prep.
• Strong ability to teach foundational math concepts, reading strategies, and basic digital literacy.
• Experience working with adult learners in an educational or tutoring setting.
• Patient, encouraging, structured, and capable of breaking down complex concepts into accessible steps.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized 1:1 instruction focused on GED course material, placement test preparation, and core subject mastery.
• Guide the student through key reading strategies, reading comprehension techniques, and mathematical concepts.
• Assist with basic computer skills necessary for navigating placement tests and online coursework.
• Implement structured, accessible, and engaging learning strategies tailored to an adult learner.
• Maintain a patient, encouraging environment that keeps the student engaged and builds confidence.
• Track academic progress and adjust instructional pace based on the student's needs and community college coursework.
