Abilities First, Inc. is seeking a full-time 1:1 aide for the Myers Corners Education Center in Wappingers Falls, NY. The role supports students’ educational, physical, social, and emotional needs under the guidance of classroom staff, following each student’s IEP goals.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm (32.5 hours/week, 48 weeks/year) with a 6-week summer program. Compensation ranges from $16.88 to $18.88 per hour, with full benefits including health, dental, vision,

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in early childhood and special education preferred.
• Ability to push/pull students, lift and carry with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the classroom with individual and group activities.
• Support organization and setup of the classroom to encourage learning.
• Attend therapy sessions to support carryover in class.
• Escort and assist students to and from buses and manage mobility.
• Transport wheelchair/equipment and assist with transfers and lifting.
• Assist with dressing, feeding and meal preparation following OT procedures.
• Set up computers and adaptive communication devices.
