Indera in Manlius, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a 69-year-old woman with social activities, healthy eating, and exercise. This 1:1 role focuses on promoting independence and quality of life in the community.

The position is part-time with potential for additional hours at the agency. Starting pay is $19.25 per hour, with raises for relevant experience, and duties include travel to various locations and providing gentle physical assistance when climbing stairs.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsabilités

• Assist a 69-year-old female with social engagement, healthy food options, and exercise.
• Help the client engage in activities in the community (bookstores, dining out, movies).
• Be creative, active, patient and engaging; willing to travel to different locations and participate in different exercises.
• Provide physical assistance when using stairs.
• Part-time position with potential for additional hours; hours Monday and Friday, 10–4.
