Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks a ParaEducator (School Aide) to work 1:1 with an Elementary Scholar in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing program at Sherwood Forest Elementary. You will support the teacher with instructional and physical tasks to promote independence and safety in daily routines.

The role requires a 6-hour school day, Monday through Friday, with duties including data collection, IEP support, behavior planning, and assisting with transitions and classroom activities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • AA degree or 48 college-level semester credits or 72 college-level quarter credits required.
  • Pass the state approved ParaPro Assessment may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily instruction of the assigned student and other students.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate IEP goals and objectives.
  • Plan daily/weekly individual and group lessons based on IEP goals and objectives.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data to modify IEP and determine program effectiveness.
  • Assist with behavior plans and with teaching daily living skills and classroom routines.
