Job summary

West Rowan Middle School in Salisbury, North Carolina seeks an EC Teacher Assistant for a 1:1 support role to assist the classroom teacher with planning, organizing and preparing instructional materials, and to support clerical tasks as directed.

The position is full-time for 10 months (Pay grade D), 37.5 hours per week, with a pay range of $17.05 to $21.18 per hour and an immediate starting date. Applications welcome until filled.

Qualifications

• 48 semester hours with a 2.5+ GPA from an accredited institution OR an Associate Degree or higher with a 2.5+ GPA.
• WorkKeys Math, Reading, and Writing scores meet minimums.
• Requires lifting of 15+ pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instruction as directed.
• Create a safe and healthful classroom environment under the teacher’s guidance.
• Help students understand school and classroom rules and regulations.
• Assist students in maintaining cleanliness and neatness.
• Interact with students, teachers, administrators, parents and community effectively.
• Model positive behavior at all times.
