Job summary

Penn Medicine in Chester County is hiring a Behavioral Safety Assistant II for 36 hours per week. You will provide 1:1 patient observation, monitor safety, and support mobility and daily care in a hospital setting, including the Emergency Department and inpatient units.

This role requires BLS, CPR training, a HS diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of patient-care experience. You will work a 7:00am-7:30pm schedule, with every third weekend and holiday rotation, collaborating with nurses and

Qualifications

Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required).
CPR certification; training provided if certification not held at time of hire.
HS Diploma/GED (Required).
1+ years experience in a patient care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 observation of assigned patients based on behavioral health or safety needs.
Conduct continual rounds and document observations within required intervals.
Operate video/remote monitoring software for surveillance.
Assist with ambulation, ADLs, hygiene, and basic toileting.
Assist with meal setup and feeding as appropriate.
Perform safe patient transfers and notify nurses of changes.
Maintain safety protocols for patients at risk of harm and utilize PPE as needed.
Document patient behaviors and interventions in the EMR.
