This rewarding position offers the opportunity to directly support scholars and help them achieve success both academically and socially.Position Details:Pay Rate: $20.00 per hourSchedule:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:15 AM – 4:15 PMWednesday: 7:15 AM – 2:15 PMSpecial Education Aides play a critical role in schools by supporting students with diverse physical, behavioral, and academic needs. Often referred to as paraprofessionals or special education assistants, they help bridge the gap between classroom instruction and individual student success. Through one-on-one support, encouragement, and collaboration with teachers and service providers, Special Education Aides make a lasting impact on the lives of students every day.GENERAL SUMMARY: Candidate must be passionate about serving students from low socioeconomic backgrounds who need extra support. Experience working with students in small groups, 1:1, and large groups. Must work well with students, staff, and principal, experience giving instruction in the core reading areas (decoding, phonics, comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary), and be comfortable with elementary level reading and ELA. Must have experience working with students with learning disabilities._____________________________________________________________________________________ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to:Maintain student supervision at all times, including transitions, P.E., and lunch periods. Inform the classroom teacher whenever you leave the room, where you are going, and for how long.Implement lesson plans as designed by the teacher; support in the delivery of instruction for the assigned students.Systematically record and graph data specific to assigned students regarding overall instructional progress, achievement of IEP goals, behavioral incidents, baseline behavior, and other information as required with the guidance of the Education Specialist.Communicate measurable learning objectives and guide assigned students toward mastery of goals.Utilize instructional techniques and appropriate instructional material as prescribed by the classroom teacher.Communicate with students about IEP goals regularly; correct student errors in a positive and timely manner.Communicate any concerns to the classroom teacher and Education Specialist regarding student performance and behavior.Assist in tracking the completion of homework and coursework.• Follow all policies for classroom procedures.Complete logs daily (if required).
