Job summary

Upper St. Clair School District is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for an immediate long term substitute assignment at Upper St. Clair High School (Grades 9-12).

You will design and implement IEPs, collaborate with families and staff, and support students' academic, behavioral, emotional, and social needs. The role requires PA certification in Special Education (K-12 or 7-12), a bachelor's degree, and a commitment to professional practices, confidentiality, and district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• PA teaching certificate in Special Education (K-12 or 7-12) required.
• Experience in public or private education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans and Positive Behavioral Support Plans (PBSPs).
• Facilitate collaboration with team members to support students' academic, behavioral, emotional, and social needs.
• Ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to learning while building a positive rapport with students.
• Implement positive behavioral and effective classroom management strategies.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, staff, and administrators regarding student matters.
• Communicate with professionalism in all required areas.
• Collaborate with the special education curriculum leader and district leadership to understand yearly roles and responsibilities as dictated by student need.
• Understanding of special education process, procedures, and compliance.
• Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy.

Anticipated Start Date: Immediately through LDTR

Summary:

Provide special education services through the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaborate and communicate with students, families, and staff to support the unique needs of learners.

Requirements:
