ADVANCED PRESS TEAM

Job Summary

The Press Team is responsible for operating and supporting the functions of a state‑of‑the‑art aluminum extrusion press. Team members ensure safe operation, consistent production quality, efficient workflow, and adherence to operational standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, teamwork, and the ability to work in a high‑paced manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor all functions of an advanced aluminum extrusion press.
  • Load, align, and secure billets; oversee extrusion through dies according to specifications.
  • Interpret production schedules, extrusion orders, and work instructions.
  • Adjust press parameters (speed, temperature, pressure) to ensure optimal extrusion quality.
  • Assist with die changes, tooling setups, and calibration.
  • Monitor extruded profiles for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and consistency.
  • Perform in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measurement tools.
  • Document quality checks and report deviations or defects immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO, customer, and internal quality standards.
  • Follow all facility safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Assist in basic press maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with saw operators, handlers, die shop personnel, and material handlers.
  • Communicate production issues, delays, or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
  • Update electronic or paper logs accurately and in real time.
  • Report material usage, tooling issues, and production variances.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or extrusion operations preferred (but willing to train).
