Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a cement terminal operator in Decatur, IL. You will be involved in day-to-day operations, operate and maintain terminal equipment, inspect and load/unload materials, troubleshoot issues, ensure order accuracy, and support inventory control.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong communication, and adherence to safety protocols in an on-site environment with equipment and varying weather.

What You'll Be Doing

• Be involved in and aware of all aspects of the day-to-day cement terminal operations
• Operate and maintain terminal equipment such as track mobile or car pullers, etc. and machinery. Inspect, Load and unload materials from trucks and railcars. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment problems to minimize downtime and ensure proper operation
• Ensure accuracy of orders, documents, troubleshoot any discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment. Performing housekeeping of the facility
• Assist with inventory management and record-keeping.

Conditions of Employment

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
