Job summary

Avesoro is seeking an experienced Underground Electrical Engineer to join our underground mining operation in Turkey. The role focuses on safe, reliable electrical systems, maintenance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will supervise installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of underground electrical equipment, monitor substations, switchgear, MCCs, and transformers, and ensure compliance with mining safety standards. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Underground mining experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with MV/LV systems and electrical distribution.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in English and reporting documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation of underground electrical systems.
• Supervise installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical infrastructure.
• Monitor substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and underground power distribution.
• Analyze failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Provide electrical engineering support to underground development projects.
• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, mining regulations, and HSE procedures.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and electrical documentation.
• Coordinate contractors and external service providers during electrical works.
• Manage electrical spare parts and recommend reliability improvements.
• Participate in shutdown planning and major maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and training to electricians and maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Mining, Planning, and HSE teams.
