Job summary

Eaton, a global energy management leader, seeks a Test Engineer for FAT activities on MV/HV switchgear and protection relays. You will script FATs, troubleshoot customer projects, and analyze test data to improve product quality. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, preferably Electric & Electronics.
• New graduates may train for Test Engineering role (optional).
• Experience with electrical test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Experience applying statistics to test data analysis.
• Experience working in MV/HV switchgears.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead FAT activities with customer.
• Create FAT scripts for projects.
• Troubleshoot and test MV/HV switchgear and related panels.
• Program and test protection relays and IEC61850 logic.
• Debug and resolve issues identified during testing.
• Perform root cause analysis on failures and provide improvements.
• Support manufacturing with preventive action plans.
• Review HV maintenance programs for safe operation.
• Provide engineering input to switchgears per Eaton standards.
• Support digitalization of test processes and reporting.

At Eaton, we’re dedicated to enhancing quality of life and protecting the environment with our innovative energy management technologies and services.What you’ll do:• Lead Factory Acceptance Test activities with customer.• Creating FAT scripts related with specified project• Customer Order Engineering based trouble shooting and testing Primary MV switchgear (Xiria), ATS, and other secondary panel functions (Control, metering and protection).• Protection Relay (ABB, SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER, GE and SEL) logic controllers (EATON PLC’s) Programming and Testing including IEC61850 protocol related logic design and tests• Debug and resolve issues identified during testing activities• Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical equipment failures and provide recommendations for improving product quality• Providing technical support for the Manufacturing team with preventive action plan• Perform continuous review of the HV equipment maintenance programs to identify improvements to ensure the HV asset's safe and reliable operation• Provides engineering input for switchgears to ensure Eaton standards and material specifications are followed.,• Support digitalization and automation initiatives for test processes, including structured test data collection, reporting dashboards, and reduction of manual reporting activities.• Contributes to the use of AI-supported tools for analyzing test results, identifying recurring failure patterns, and improving troubleshooting efficiency.• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to develop simple automation solutions such as Power BI reports, Power Automate flows, Excel-based trackers, or similar tools that improve visibility of test performance and open issues or cycle time reduction of both visual and electrical tests.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering,preferably Electric & Electronics degreeNew graduate to be trained for Test Engineering Role(optional)Experience with electrical test equipment and measurement techniques to verify and validate product requirements.Experience applying statistical concepts and methods to analyze test data.Experience working in MV/HV switchgearsFluent in English is a mustInterest in digital tools, AI-supported analysis, data visualization, and process automation to improve engineering and manufacturing workflows.Skills:Passion for research and continuous learningDetailed orientedStrong curiosity and willingness to explore new technologies and standardsSolution oriented, proactiveStrong communication skillsReporting and proper escalationTime managementAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
