The Technical Engineer, MedBot is responsible for providing technical support, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and field service support for MicroPort MedBot surgical robotic systems across Turkey and surrounding markets as required.
The role will work closely with commercial, clinical, training, and customer service teams to ensure optimal system performance and a high level of customer satisfaction. This position requires strong technical aptitude, a customer-focused mindset, and the flexibility to travel extensively within the region and internationally when required.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform installation, setup, testing, and commissioning of MedBot robotic systems at customer sites.
- Conduct system verification and ensure all technical requirements are met prior to handover.
- Provide technical support during product launches and new customer implementations.
Technical Service & Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on robotic systems and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-related issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to minimize system downtime.
- Maintain service records and technical documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Clinical & Customer Support
- Provide on-site technical support during clinical procedures when required.
- Support surgeons, hospital staff, and users with technical product operation.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and technical service requests.
- Build strong relationships with hospitals, distributors, and key stakeholders.
Training & Product Support
- Support customer training activities related to system operation and maintenance.
- Assist in technical demonstrations, workshops, and clinical education programs.
- Work closely with Training and Clinical teams to ensure successful customer adoption.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all service activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support complaint investigations and technical assessments as required.
- Escalate product quality and technical issues through appropriate channels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, Training, and Regulatory teams to support business objectives.
- Provide field feedback to R&D and Product Management teams to drive continuous product improvement.
- Support distributors and service partners on technical matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical service, field service engineering, clinical support, or medical device support.
- Experience supporting capital medical equipment is required.
- Experience with surgical robotics, or advanced medical technologies is highly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills covering both hardware and software systems.
- Experience working in hospital and operating room environments is advantageous.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Language
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Turkish language proficiency required.
Travel
- Willingness to travel extensively within Turkey and internationally as business needs require.
