Job summary

IOM in Ankara is seeking a Budget Associate to strengthen financial management for migration projects. You will support project managers by tracking expenditures, ensuring donor compliance, and delivering timely financial reports.

Responsibilities include cost data research, market rate analyses, forecasting expenditures, coordinating with procurement, and maintaining filing systems for transparent donor reporting.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, a completed high school degree with at least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in financial management, budgeting, and systems review.

Responsibilities

• Research and compile cost data to establish reasonable unit costs for budgetary purposes, including market rate analyses.
• Notify project managers of foreseen surplus balances in S&O budgets at least three months in advance.
• Maintain a proper filing system for project documents and ensure accurate cost allocation against budget lines.
• Assist with staff projectization tasks in the PULSE system and forecast expenditures in coordination with project managers.
• Monitor financial reports to verify expenditure alignment with approved budgets and cost eligibility using donor templates.
• Prepare financial reports for donors and handle related correspondence.
• Coordinate with procurement and operations for commitment clearance; manage interim and final report deadlines.
• Any other assigned duties within scope of this role.
