Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial expenditure and accountability, preparing forecasts and ensuring all commitments are reflected accurately.
  • Assist in preparing donor financial reports and annual budgets, monitoring budget control, and analyzing variances.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure correct cost allocation and maintain financial files.
  • Payroll processing and support budget proposal reviews.

Job purpose

This role supports the Senior Resource Management Officer and National Budget Officer in managing financial resources and providing financial information for informed decision-making. The position is crucial for overseeing the financial management of assigned project portfolios, ensuring compliance with IOM regulations and donor agreements. It contributes to accurate financial reporting, budget monitoring, and the preparation of financial analyses and forecasts, thereby supporting the effective implementation and accountability of IOM's migration-related projects and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular and ad hoc financial information to support decision-making.

  • Prepare budgets for new projects and maintain financial files.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure correct cost allocation.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Education

A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field is required, along with at least four years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a completed high school degree from an accredited institution with at least six years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Accredited universities are listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Work experience

Experience is required in financial management, budgeting, and systems review. Additionally, experience in accounting, finance, banking, and treasury is necessary for this role.

Skills

Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet). Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
