Job summary

Schneider Electric Türkiye is seeking a Steel Industry Process Expert to combine deep knowledge of steel manufacturing with expertise in process optimization, automation, digitalization, energy efficiency, and operational excellence. You will work with leading steel manufacturers to understand production challenges and define transformation roadmaps.

The role involves translating process challenges into practical Schneider Electric solutions, developing use cases, and building business cases

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
• 8+ years of professional experience in steel, metals, heavy industry, or manufacturing.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of steel production processes (melt shop, EAF, continuous casting, rolling mills, finishing lines, utilities, quality, maintenance, energy management).
• Solid understanding of industrial process optimization, production efficiency, equipment performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Experience identifying bottlenecks, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities in industrial environments.
• Good understanding of industrial automation, control systems, digital technologies, software, and energy management solutions.
• Experience leading process improvement, operational excellence, digital transformation, automation, or energy efficiency projects.
• Ability to translate complex production requirements into technology-driven solutions and measurable business value.
• Experience developing business cases related to productivity, quality, energy efficiency, reliability, sustainability, and operational performance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with practical understanding of industrial operations.
• Strong customer orientation with ability to engage plant management, production, process engineering, maintenance, automation, energy, and technical teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary technical and commercial teams.
• Fluent in English and Turkish.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customers’ steel manufacturing processes, operational challenges, performance gaps, and improvement priorities.
• Act as a process expert across melt shop, continuous casting, rolling mills, finishing operations, utilities, maintenance, quality, and energy management.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, process efficiency, energy consumption, quality, equipment reliability, and operational performance.
• Translate production and process challenges into Schneider Electric automation, digital, software, and energy management solutions.
• Develop steel‑process‑specific use cases focused on process optimization, energy efficiency, quality improvement, predictive maintenance, reliability, and sustainability.
• Support customers in assessing current process performance and defining improvement opportunities and transformation priorities.
• Build business cases demonstrating measurable operational, energy, sustainability, and financial value.
• Identify global best practices and innovative technologies relevant to steel manufacturing and adapt them to customer processes and local market needs.
• Support customers in shaping their process optimization, digital transformation, energy efficiency, and sustainability roadmaps.
• Collaborate with sales, consulting, automation, technical, services, software, and solution teams to design integrated solutions.
• Provide process expertise during customer workshops, technical discussions, solution development, and strategic engagements.
• Support business development by identifying process‑driven opportunities within existing and potential steel industry customers.
• Represent Schneider Electric as a steel process expert in customer meetings, workshops, technical events, and industry discussions.
• Monitor developments in steel production technologies, automation, digitalization, decarbonization, and energy efficiency and assess their potential application to customer operations.
