Job summary

Finbyte in Turkey is seeking a Software QA Engineer to test mobile applications, ensure quality, and collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps throughout the SDLC. The role is primarily focused on manual testing with a strong interest in automation.

You will create test plans, run comprehensive test cases for iOS and Android, report defects in Jira, and participate in Agile ceremonies to drive quality across releases.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software QA focused on mobile applications
• Hands-on with manual testing methodologies and tools
• Strong familiarity with Agile, Java/OO languages, native apps and mobile environment
• Understanding of mobile platforms (iOS/Android) and OS versions
• Strong API understanding and ability to read API documentation
• Knowledge of frontend/backend communication and debugging techniques
• Experience in Agile development environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for financial applications
• Perform manual and automated testing as required to ensure software quality and stability
• Create test cases and test scenarios for mobile applications (iOS and Android)
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure high-quality applications are delivered
• Testing required flows, create and maintain QA documentation including test plans and reports
• Execute manual black box, UI, regression, functional, and integration testing

Job description

As a Software QA Engineer, you will be responsible for testing mobile applications to ensure functionality, usability, performance, and stability. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. This role will primarily focus on manual testing, but a background in automated testing is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for financial applications.
• Perform both manual and automated testing as required to ensure software quality and stability.
• Formulate test cases and test scenarios derived from requirements and design documents, especially for mobile applications (iOS and Android).
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality applications.
• Testing required flows, create and maintain QA documentation including test plans and reports
• Execute diverse testing methodologies encompassing manual black box, user interface, regression, functional, and integration testing.
• Complete User Acceptance Test(s) periodically to keep applications bug free.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira.
• Provide assistance in the development of the test automation framework when required.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5years of experience in software QA, with a focus on mobile applications Hands-on experience with manual testing methodologies and tools.
• Strong familiarity with Agile Software Development Approach, Java/other OO languages, native apps and mobile environment.
• Good understanding of software testing principles and techniques, verification and validation techniques, test automation and defect management.
• Understanding of mobile platforms (iOS/Android), device fragmentation, and OS versions.
• Strong understanding of API and reading API documentation.
• Strong understanding of the way Frontend and Backend communicates.
• Ability to analyze crash logs, backtraces, and assist engineers by utilizing basic debugging techniques.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing financial or banking applications.
• ISTQB or similar QA certification.
• Experience with various load testing tools like Jmeter, Locust and any other Performance Monitoring tools.
