Job summary

NGSS is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead Java and .NET teams, aligning technical strategy with business goals in telecom and finance projects. You will mentor team leads, drive delivery quality, and scale an engineering culture across 20+ engineers.

You’ll collaborate with QA, BA, DevOps, and Product, oversee performance reviews and hiring, shape delivery roadmaps, and foster clean code and modern tech practices in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in a leadership/people management role managing multiple software development teams.
• Solid technical background and architectural understanding of Java and .NET ecosystems.

Our robust engineering ecosystem is powered by two major stacks — .NET (C#) and Java — which drive the core of our cutting-edge platforms.

We’re looking for a Software EngineeringManager who can bring people together, connect advanced technology with business needs, and help us scale our engineering culture. In this role, you will directly manage and empower our Java and .NET Team Leads, guiding them as they oversee their respective development squads. Alongside steering the core development teams, you will also align with QA and Business Analysis functions—managing a growing organization of 20+ talented people. Your leadership will shape both how we build next-generation products and how we deliver them.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the Leaders: Mentor, guide, and grow Team Leads and developers in your team, equipping them with the tools and strategies to successfully manage their development squads.
• Build and maintain a culture of trust, technical excellence, ownership, and cross-team collaboration.
• Oversee performance reviews, career development, hiring, and team structure planning across the software development department.
• Ensure high-quality product deliveries alongside your Team Leads by overseeing scope, timeline, budget, and risk management.
• Drive seamless collaboration between Development Team Leads, QA, BA, DevOps, and Product functions.
• Shape technical and delivery strategy in close partnership with Tech Leads, Delivery Leads, and Project Managers.
• Foster a culture of clean code, quality, and continuous improvement, incorporating modern tech trends into our development lifecycle.
• Ensure delivery predictability, transparency, and measurable impact across all development pipelines.
• Be a bridge between product vision and technical execution, serving as an escalation point for technical, operational, and people challenges.

What You’ll Bring (Requirements)

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in a leadership/people management role, with proven experience managing Team Leads or multiple software development teams.
• Solid technical background and architectural understanding of Java and .NET ecosystems.
• Knowledge and practical understanding of ML/AI concepts and Large Language Models (LLMs), with a vision for how to leverage them in high-tech product development.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern test strategies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in the telecommunications industry, with exposure to OSS/BSS and infrastructure operations.
• Familiarity with key telecom domains such as fault & performance management, service fulfillment, and network inventory.
• Familiarity with industry frameworks like TM Forum standards and ITIL.
• Experience with financial or banking software solutions.
