Job summary

ACWA is seeking an experienced Social Manager to oversee social performance, stakeholder engagement and community relations for projects in Türkiye. The role interfaces with communities, contractors and authorities to implement ESMS requirements and lender standards.

The candidate will lead grievance handling, resettlement support and livelihood restoration, while coordinating budgets and social investment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Rural Development or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years' relevant professional experience within community relations or social performance.
• At least 3 years' experience supporting heavy industrial, infrastructure, energy or major construction projects.
• Minimum 2 years' project-based experience in stakeholder engagement, resettlement or livelihood restoration.
• Strong experience with ESIA/ESAP, RAP, LRP, Stakeholder Engagement Plans, grievance mechanisms and ESMS frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate project social commitments per ESIA/ESAP/RAP/LRP/ESMS.
• Develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans and maintain stakeholder mapping.
• Build strong relationships with local communities, authorities and project stakeholders.
• Manage the project's grievance mechanism and ensure issues are addressed.
• Support resettlement, livelihood restoration and community development programmes.
• Coordinate community investment and local employment with project teams.
• Lead planning and budgeting of community relations activities.
• Monitor emerging community issues and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Ensure compliance with Turkish regulations, IFC and lender standards.
• Maintain social/ESMS records and perform audits.
