Job summary

Arup in Istanbul is seeking a Site QA/QC Electrical Engineer to ensure quality and compliance of electrical works on data centre projects. The role focuses on inspections, WIR processes and QA/QC management with occasional support to technical reviews to align design intent with site execution.

You will coordinate with GC, vendors and multidisciplinary teams, manage documentation, and proactively drive corrective actions to protect project outcomes and programme while maintaining audit-ready

The Opportunity

As a Site Quality Engineer (Electrical) at Arup, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of site works for data centres and mission-critical facilities.

This is a site-focused role in Istanbul, with primary responsibility for inspections, Work Inspection Request (WIR) processes, and QA/QC management, while also providing occasional support to technical reviews to ensure alignment between design intent and site execution.

As a Site QA/QC Electrical Engineer at Arup, you will:

• Manage site inspections and QA/QC processes overseeing Work Inspection Request (WIR) workflows, quality assurance activities, and inspection programmes to ensure electrical installation works meet project specifications, standards, and shop drawings.
• Maintain inspection documentation managing inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, and close-out activities; ensuring all quality records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready throughout the project lifecycle.
• Co-ordinate across site interfaces working closely with the general contractor (GC), vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality standards on site and resolve quality issues efficiently throughout project delivery.
• Identify and drive corrective actions proactively identifying risks related to installation quality, raising issues promptly, and co-ordinating the implementation of corrective actions to protect project outcomes and programme.
• Support technical alignment providing occasional support to desktop technical reviews, ensuring consistency between design intent and site execution, and contributing to integrated quality outcomes across electrical and multidisciplinary workstreams.

• Technical background: Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering and demonstrated site experience in electrical installation and quality management.
• QA/QC and site inspection experience: Proven experience in QA/QC management, site inspections, and construction quality assurance; ability to manage WIR processes, NCRs, punch lists, and close-out activities to a professional standard.
• Sector experience: Experience on data centre or mission-critical projects is strongly preferred; familiarity with commissioning processes is an advantage.
• Co-ordination and delivery focus: You manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously, co-ordinate effectively across contractors and multidisciplinary teams, and maintain documentation quality under programme pressure.
• Communication and language: Professional proficiency in English (CEFR B2 or above) is required for this role; clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting, NCR management, and stakeholder co-ordination.
