Job summary

NJTPA is seeking a Manager, Safety Planning to lead a comprehensive safety program and advance regional safety goals. You will coordinate across internal units and with external partners to implement safety initiatives that reduce fatalities and injuries.

The role requires deep expertise in transportation safety data analysis, policy guidance, and program management, with collaboration across counties and municipalities within New Jersey’s planning framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, public policy, engineering, or related field.
• Six years of applied experience in transportation safety data analysis, collaboration and coordination.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer background with GIS, database management and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety planning initiatives and coordinate internal and external planning efforts.
• Manage safety studies and coordinate with subregions and municipalities.
• Analyze data and provide policy guidance for safety investments and actions.
• Represent NJTPA on safety-focused committees and forums.
• Support local safety action plans and integration with other priority areas.
