Job summary

Danish Refugee Council Türkiye seeks a senior Protection Adviser to provide technical oversight of the protection programme in Gaziantep and beyond. You will lead strategy, policy development, and ensure program quality while coordinating with partners, donors and government bodies.

The role requires 5+ years in international protection, strong writing skills, and experience managing protection projects, SOPs and learning activities. Turkish and English proficiency essential; Arabic an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of proven international protection sector experience.
• Minimum 3 years leading or advising protection programmes.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Experience in project design and protection programme development.
• Experience developing protection strategy including SOPs and training materials.
• Fluent English, Turkish and/or Arabic an added value.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of the protection portfolio and strategy.
• Lead protection monitoring and cross-partner coordination.
• Develop and implement country-level protection strategy and guidelines.
• Supervise protection staff and guide capacity building.
• Review proposals and ensure protection components meet quality standards.
• Coordinate with donors, government, and sector partners; advocate for protection issues.
