Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead administration, governance, and automation for our Data Lake and AWS Databricks ecosystems. You will design solutions that streamline platform operations, enable analytics and ML, and ensure secure data access across the organization.

The role emphasizes RBAC/Entra ID access management, Unity Catalog governance, and Terraform-driven automation to support scalable, reliable cloud platforms in a global enterprise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Databricks.
• Proficiency in AWS access management, covering RBAC and Entra ID.
• Knowledge of Databricks governance, especially Unity Catalog, including catalog/schema management, access control, and data lineage.
• Expertise in Terraform for automated infrastructure deployment and management.
• Skills in Python development for automation and scripting.
• Familiarity with REST APIs for platform administration and configuration.
• Understanding of DevOps principles (monitoring, observability, incident response).
• Agile methodologies familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and administer AWS Databricks and Data Lake environments.
• Apply access management practices leveraging RBAC and Entra ID.
• Leverage Databricks governance concepts, such as Unity Catalog, access control, and data lineage.
• Develop automation scripts and REST API integrations for platform configuration and monitoring.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and ensure operational reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform standards and governance frameworks.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and improve performance and efficiency.
• Document platform processes and best practices.
