Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a client seeking a Senior ML Engineer - Malware Detection, remote in Turkey. You will build and deploy ML systems to detect web-based malware at scale, handle large hosting environments, and generate actionable detection improvements with robust evaluation.

Qualifications

• At least five years of production ML experience, with 2+ years in adversarial domains.
• Transformer model training, fine-tuning, and distillation experience.
• Strong Python, PyTorch, and Hugging Face skills; SQL for large datasets.
• Rigorous evaluation with leakage-free splits and fixed FP constraints.
• Inference performance and cost optimization (CPU/memory).
• Ability to document decisions and communicate in written form.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, evaluation, and deployment of ML systems to improve malware detection at scale.
• Develop classification and triage models to prioritize suspicious samples.
• Build automated signature generation for new malware campaigns.
• Create context-aware detection methods for phishing, webshells, and injections.
• Improve detection precision and cleanup effectiveness post-remediation.
• Establish evaluation frameworks with time-based and campaign-based splits.
• Optimize throughput/latency and manage resources for production deployments.
• Move models from experimentation to production with shadow deployments.
• Incorporate feedback and retraining cycles based on analyst input.
• Develop reusable training pipelines and manage GPU-backed experiments.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and infra teams on detections.
• Document architecture, evaluation methods, and production results.
