Job summary

Tarfin is seeking a Financial Controller to join our Financial Control team and drive timely financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance across Tarfin group companies. This is a hands-on role for an analytical, proactive professional in a fast-growing fintech startup in Istanbul area.

You will own monthly closings, consolidate management reporting, support annual budgeting, and help enhance controls and forecasting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field from a top university.
• Knowledge of IFRS is an asset.
• Solid knowledge of accounting.
• Strong analytical skills with a critical and inquisitive mindset.
• Efficient in using Excel for financial analysis and modelling.
• Experience in preparing financial forecasts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.

Responsibilities

• Taking overall responsibility for monthly closing activities of Tarfin group companies
• Coordination & consolidation of the monthly management reporting
• Contributing to the Company's annual budget by establishing monthly budget review procedures
• Preparing monthly budget variance reports
• Analyzing existing accounting and finance procedures to identify risks, establish new control mechanisms and procedures to address these risks and ensure new procedures are executed successfully
• Taking active role in coordinating the Company’s annual audit both with independent auditors and the accounting team
• Working closely with Product team for improving Tarfin platform and its output
