Job summary

Assystem seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead ESIA and environmental compliance for international programs. You will prepare ESIA reports, oversee monitoring, and support ESMP development across multidisciplinary teams. Travel may be required to site and client locations.

Ideal candidates bring extensive ESIA experience, strong English proficiency, and proven ability to manage complex, international projects with stakeholders from multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years of experience in a Project Manager position.
• Proven experience in preparing and writing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports.
• Mandatory experience working on projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs), such as the World Bank, IFC, or EBRD.
• Experience in linear infrastructure and/or energy, oil and gas projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to prepare high-quality technical reports.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Willingness to travel for project-related activities, where required.a

Responsibilities

• Preparing and writing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, including the assessment of environmental and social impacts and the identification of appropriate mitigation measures.
• Managing environmental monitoring activities and reviewing monitoring data, technical studies, and reports to assess environmental performance and compliance.
• Supporting the preparation and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) and associated monitoring programmes.
• Coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure the quality and timely delivery of environmental assessments.
• Conducting site visits and participating in technical meetings, audits, and environmental inspections, where required.
• Contributing to the development of technical methodologies and proposals for environmental and social consulting assignments.
