Job summary

ASSYSTEM is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to manage environmental and social assessment activities for international projects. You will prepare Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), assess environmental impacts, and support compliance with environmental requirements.

You will coordinate with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams, conduct site visits, and contribute to ESMP development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years total professional experience, including at least 5 years in a Project Manager role.
• Experience in preparing and writing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports.
• Mandatory experience working on projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs) such as World Bank, IFC, or EBRD.
• Experience in linear infrastructure and/or energy, oil and gas projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English, including ability to prepare high-quality technical reports.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Willingness to travel for project-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and write Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, including impact assessment and mitigation measures.
• Manage environmental monitoring activities and review data, studies, and reports for compliance.
• Support the preparation and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) and monitoring programs.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams for timely delivery of assessments.
• Conduct site visits and participate in technical meetings, audits, and environmental inspections as needed.
• Contribute to development of methodologies and proposals for environmental and social consulting assignments.
