Job summary

CoreX Holding is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join the Istanbul Maslak headquarters. You will administer SQL Server environments, implement Always On and DR, monitor performance, and coordinate failover tests to ensure data availability.

The role requires 5+ years in SQL Server DB administration, strong tuning skills, and knowledge of security and auditing best practices. Collaboration with BI teams and cloud services is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
• Experience with Always On Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication, and Failover Clusters.
• Experience with backup, recovery, failover testing, and DR planning.
• Proficiency in MS SQL, T-SQL development, and DB administration.
• Experience in performance tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of DB security, access management, and auditing best practices.
• Experience with BI platforms (Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SSRS) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT, data integration, and warehousing concepts is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL and cloud DB services is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Administering and maintaining SQL Server environments, including Always On and DR environments.
• Monitoring database performance and implementing corrective actions.
• Investigating and resolving database incidents and performance issues.
• Planning and validating failover tests, DR drills, and migrations.
• Ensuring backups and recoverability in failures or disasters.
• Protecting databases against threats and unauthorized access.
• Designing reporting architectures using read-only replicas, Power BI, and BI platforms.
• Monitoring reporting performance, schedules, and data availability.
• Developing dashboards to support data-driven decisions.
• Liaising with IT teams and stakeholders to support DB initiatives.

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our headquarters in Maslak, Istanbul.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields,
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration,
• Strong experience in SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication, and Failover Cluster,
• Experience in database backup, recovery, failover testing, and disaster recovery planning,
• Proficiency in MS SQL, T-SQL development, and database administration,
• Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, index management, and capacity planning,
• Knowledge of database security, access management, and auditing best practices,
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SSRS, or similar BI platforms would be an advantage,
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts would be an advantage,
• Familiarity with Azure SQL and other cloud database services would be an advantage,
• Analytic mindset and strong problem-solving skills,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
• Highly organized, responsible, and able to work effectively in a team environment,
• Maintaining an awareness of trends and developments in database administration, BI, and cloud technologies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Administering and maintaining SQL Server environments, including Always On Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, replication technologies, and disaster recovery environments,
• Monitoring database performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective actions,
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving database-related incidents and performance issues,
• Planning, executing, and validating failover tests, disaster recovery drills, and database migration activities,
• Ensuring that databases are adequately backed up and can be recovered in the event of system failures, data corruption, or disaster scenarios,
• Protecting databases against threats and unauthorized access,
• Designing and supporting reporting architectures using read-only replicas, Always On secondary databases, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and similar BI platforms,
• Monitoring and improving reporting platform performance, refresh schedules, and data availability,
• Developing and maintaining operational and executive dashboards to support data-driven business decisions,
• Reporting on database usage, performance, and availability metrics,
• Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance, performance, security, and protection,
• Regularly liaising with IT teams, application owners, project managers, programmers, and business stakeholders to support database-related initiatives.
