Job summary

DenizBank is expanding its Data Science team. We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop and validate statistical and ML models, and to lead ML/LLM initiatives that guide banking decisions.

You’ll collaborate across the bank to deliver data-driven insights and robust models in a dynamic environment. Ideal candidates bring 4+ years of experience, strong Python/SQL skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or quantitative discipline is required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in data science.
• Hands-on experience developing and validating statistical and ML models.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with data processing libraries.

Responsibilities

We’re growing our Data Science team at DenizBank!

Join us as a Senior Data Scientist and bring your modelling expertise to projects that improve decision-making and create measurable business value.

From analytical models to intelligent assistants, you’ll combine machine learning and Generative AI to support DenizBank’s data-driven transformation.

What You’ll Do

You’ll develop analytical models using large-scale data infrastructure. Alongside this work, you’ll contribute to architectural and strategic decisions on integrating LLM-based solutions into banking processes, including agentic systems and intelligent assistants.

• Design, deploy and monitor end-to-end machine learning models for the Bank’s marketing teams, including customer churn, cross-sell, propensity, customer lifetime value and dynamic pricing models.
• Develop LLM-powered applications, multi-agent systems and RAG architectures supported by knowledge graphs and ontologies to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams across the Bank to turn business challenges into actionable data science projects.
• Define appropriate model performance metrics, such as Gini and F1-score, and measure business impact through indicators such as ROI.
• Mentor less experienced Data Scientists, contribute to code reviews and help strengthen code quality and model development standards across the team.

What You’ll Bring

• A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or a quantitative discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in data science and a current role as a Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience developing and validating statistical and machine learning models.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with practical experience using data processing and machine learning libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost and LightGBM.
• A solid understanding of statistical methods, including sampling, hypothesis testing and A/B testing, with experience applying them to real-world business problems.
• Experience delivering machine learning projects, from data preparation and feature engineering to model development, validation and performance evaluation.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Candidates from all industries are welcome. Banking or financial services experience is not required.
