Job summary

Runibex Technology Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable, end-to-end data solutions. You will join our growing Data & AI practice helping shape engineering capabilities as we expand across the UK, Europe, and Türkiye.

This role goes beyond backlog tasks; you will own architecture, collaborate with customers, and mentor engineers while exploring new technologies such as Spark, Airflow, dbt, and Kafka.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on data engineering experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data integration.
• Experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines and platforms.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, preferably AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouses.
• Practical experience with Python and data processing technologies.
• Understanding of containerization, Linux, and infra fundamentals, with deployment awareness.
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions while remaining involved in implementation.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, and willingness to work in a small, evolving team.
• Good communication skills and professional proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver modern data platforms, pipelines, and integration solutions.
• Work across data engineering, analytics, and AI-enabling architectures, leading to AI solution deployments.
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs and select the right technologies for each problem.
• Build cloud-native solutions while designing for hybrid and on-prem environments.
• Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical architectures and implementations.
• Take technical ownership of customer projects from design through deployment and operation.
• Collaborate with customers on discovery, solution design, PoCs, and pre-sales activities.
• Help establish reusable architectures, engineering standards, and delivery practices.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers to grow the team.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for technical merit and business value.
