BiTaksi is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Istanbul to shape the data backbone powering urban mobility. You will architect scalable pipelines, ensure data quality and lineage, and collaborate with data scientists on real-time features and models.

You will work in a high-concurrency environment, leveraging Spark, Kafka, Flink, and Airflow, with cloud-native data infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure). This role emphasizes governance, performance, and scalable data assets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Flink).
• Experience with data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT) processing millions of events daily.
• Hands-on coding and optimization of data transformations.
• Establish and implement data governance standards including data quality and lineage.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to provide features and datasets for real-time ML models.
• Tune and scale the data infrastructure (AWS/GCP, Spark, Airflow).
• Work with Product/Engineering to design robust data schemas and analytics assets.

What You’ll Do

• Architect the Flow: Design, build, and maintain scalable, end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT) that process millions of events daily.
• Be Hands-On: Get into the trenches of coding and optimization. You’ll be writing clean, production-grade code to handle complex data transformations.
• Champion Data Governance: Establish and implement data governance standards. You will ensure data quality, lineage, and security are integrated into the very fabric of our data platform.
• Power the Intelligence Layer: Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to provide optimized features and reliable datasets for "real-time" ML models.
• Optimize for Scale: Tune our big data environment for maximum performance, ensuring our infrastructure (AWS/GCP, Spark, Airflow) grows as fast as ouruser base.
• Bridge the Gap: Work with Product and Engineering teams to turn business requirements into robust data schemas and reliable analytical assets.
• Data Architect & Builder: You have 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a strong foundation in Computer Science or a related field.
• Tech Maestro: You are a Python and SQL expert. You have hands‑on experience with Big Data tools (Spark, Kafka, Flink) and workflow orchestrators (Airflow, Dagster).
• Governance Advocate: You don't just move data; you care about its integrity. You have proven experience in Data Governance, including data cataloging, lineage tracking, and implementing data quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).
• Cloud Native: Deeply comfortable managing data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Problem Solver: You thrive on optimizing slow queries and fixing bottlenecks in high-through put systems.
• Clear Communicator: You can explain the importance of "Data Lineage" to a stakeholder and discuss "Partitioning Strategies" with a DevOps engineer with ease.
