Job summary

Ruby Labs is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to own the quality, reliability, and evolution of our AI systems in production. You will lead end-to-end delivery of major AI features, ensure production stability, and drive data-driven experimentation using Langfuse, Mixpanel, and OpenRouter in a modern Next.js/TypeScript stack.

You will work in an AI squad, collaborating with product, growth, data, and billing teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend/full-stack software engineering experience with production-grade TypeScript/Node.js.
• 2+ years building AI/LLM systems in production.
• Hands-on with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic or similar).
• Experience with agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, tool-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own major AI features and ensure end-to-end delivery in production.
• Maintain AI output quality, structure, and reliability across user interactions.
• Design tool contracts and MCP-based interfaces for AI-to-system integrations.
• Orchestrate multi-LLM workflows and implement cost-optimised routing.
• Lead code quality, testing, and production reliability in a squad-based AI team.
