Job summary

ARVEN HR Consultancy seeks an R&D Engineer for a leading Adana-based manufacturer in heavy machinery and trailer systems. You will design, develop, and document mechanical components, and work with production to implement engineering solutions.

You will create detailed drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to continuous product improvements while ensuring quality and export-readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in mechanical design or product development, with trailer design preferred.
• Experience preparing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and prepare technical documentation in English.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and CATIA is a plus.

Position Overview

The R&D Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing trailer systems and heavy machinery components, preparing technical documentation, supporting production through engineering solutions, and contributing to continuous product improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with design, production, and project teams to ensure innovative, manufacturable, and high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Design trailer structures and mechanical components according to customer requirements.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions for new products and product improvements.
• Create and maintain part numbering and coding systems for engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Revise existing products based on engineering feedback and production needs.
• Support prototype development and product validation activities.
• Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Ensure technical documentation complies with company standards.
• Create assembly instructions, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues.

Product Improvement & Manufacturing Support

• Work closely with manufacturing to improve product quality and production efficiency.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering change processes.
• Analyze technical problems and propose effective engineering solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D department.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Project Management teams.
• Participate in customer-focused engineering projects.
• Ensure designs comply with quality standards and manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

Professional Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical design or product development (experience in trailer design is highly preferred).
• Experience preparing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and prepare technical documentation in English.
• Good command of Microsoft Office applications.

Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly preferred:

• Trailer Manufacturing
• Machinery Manufacturing
• Metal Fabrication
• Construction Equipment
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience with CATIA (3D Design, Surface Modeling, Sheet Metal, and Drafting modules).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical part and product design.
• Ability to prepare production-ready technical drawings.
• Knowledge of CAD standards, GD&T, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, sheet metal, machining, and assembly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in trailer body and component design.

• Experience working in export-oriented manufacturing environments.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
