Job summary

WLG seeks a senior software architect to transform a 10+ year legacy codebase into an agent-operable architecture, at the crossroads of software architecture, AI-agent orchestration and engineering governance.

Fully remote from Eastern Europe, the role focuses on modernization using the Strangler pattern, SOLID, DI and Hexagonal Architecture, and on building an MCP-based framework for AI-driven development with high ownership and impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software architecture, platform engineering, or technical leadership.
• Proven experience modernizing large, undocumented legacy systems.
• Hands-on with TypeScript, .NET, and Node.js.
• Strong background in API design, distributed systems, and modular architectures.
• Experience with agentic development, MCP, LLM tooling, or AI-assisted engineering.
• Bias toward clean code, deterministic systems, and production-grade AI.

Responsibilities

• Architect an agent-operable, modular system with clear boundaries and single responsibility.
• Lead modernization using the Strangler Pattern and contract-driven interfaces.
• Enforce SOLID, Dependency Injection, and Hexagonal Architecture for deterministic AI execution.
• Design and maintain the agent context layer with standardized Skills, Rules, and Commands.
• Own Model Context Protocol servers exposing legacy APIs as typed AI tools.
• Govern AI-driven PRs, promote TDD and characterization testing to preserve legacy behavior.
