Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Freelance Data Center Technician to support our global data centers. The role involves on-demand hardware installation, networking configuration, and proactive troubleshooting to ensure high availability.

You will work with remote teams, handling Linux/Windows systems and documenting tasks for transparency. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data center operations, strong Cisco/Juniper networking, and virtualization experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred but not required.
• 3+ years in data center operations or freelance projects.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco/Juniper networking, Windows and Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking gear, and hardware for uptime.
• Monitor data center ops remotely and on-site, diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot networking devices (Cisco/Juniper) per standards.
• Manage Windows and Linux systems, apply patches and security updates.
• Document installations, repairs, and performance with reports to remote team.
• Implement security protocols to protect data center infrastructure.
