Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a CFD-focused engineer to tackle complex simulations, validate results, and ensure accuracy in AI-assisted analyses. You will work on mesh generation, turbulence modeling, and multiphase/heat transfer problems, applying rigorous V&V practices and cross-checks against experiments.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical/ Aerospace/ Chemical Engineering degree with strong English, and experience with Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, and other CFD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering or related field with a focus on fluid dynamics/thermofluids.
• Strong CFD experience including mesh generation, solver setup, turbulence modeling, multiphase/heat-transfer analysis, or post-processing.
• Deep understanding of Navier-Stokes equations, turbulence modeling (RANS, LES, DES), meshing strategies, boundary-condition specification, and verification & validation practices.
• Proven ability to analyze and validate fluid flow, heat-transfer, and multiphysics problems using CFD tools with experimental or analytical cross-checks.
• Familiarity with ASME V&V 20, AIAA CFD verification & validation, ITTC procedures.
• Excellent English proficiency with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, COMSOL, Converge) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and solve advanced CFD challenges involving mesh generation, turbulence modeling, multiphase flow, heat transfer, and solver configuration.
• Review and assess AI-generated technical responses for correctness, accuracy, and engineering integrity.
• Apply practical engineering judgment to simulation scenarios and theoretical fluid-dynamics questions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot CFD problems using best practices such as mesh independence, turbulence model selection, boundary-condition specification, and convergence analysis.
• Contribute domain expertise to refine and inform the reasoning capabilities of AI in CFD.
• Document feedback and provide clear written and verbal explanations that enhance AI learning and performance.
• Collaborate remotely within a distributed network of technical experts and project participants.
