Job summary

UN Women, Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Istanbul, seeks a Communications Analyst to help plan and implement regional communications and advocacy strategies, increasing visibility and impact of gender equality initiatives.

The role works across Programme, Operations and HQ teams to translate strategic goals into tangible campaigns, materials, and digital content, while ensuring gender perspectives and donor visibility. Fluency in English and Turkish is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field.
• A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
• At least 2 years of professional work experience in public relations, communications or advocacy is required.
• Experience in media relations and the use of social media is required.
• Experience with web-based management systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design regional communication and outreach/advocacy strategies.
• Develop and disseminate advocacy materials, including briefing materials, press releases, and articles.
• Coordinate media relations and maintain press databases; craft talking points.
• Maintain RO’s web/online presence and manage social media in line with policy.
• Provide guidance to CO/MCOs and collaborate with HQ and regional teams.
