Genesis HealthCare System is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to plan, organize, and implement structured patient treatments under supervision. You will provide group and/or individual therapy across diagnostic categories and ages, following approved treatment plans and schedules.
The role requires an OTA degree, Ohio license, NBCOT certification, and a valid driver's license, with opportunities to cross-train and support clinical staff.

Overview of Position:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing structured treatment of patients as directed by a licensed Occupational Therapist. Provides group and/or individual treatments to a variety of diagnostic categories and ages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Completes annual competencies as appropriate to position including age specific competencies.
2. Demonstrates excellence in written communication/documentation that is accurate, complete, timely, legible, and consistent with department documentation policies and regulatory agencies.
3. Reviews diagnostic data and its clinical relevance when treating patients and considers current presentation of past medical/clinical history.
4. Provides treatment interventions based on a treatment plan and goals established for the patient.
5. Initiates patient care activities in reasonable/timely manner and strictly adheres to department guidelines regarding a patient’s treatment schedule.
6. Ensures patient charges are accurately captured and submitted within 24 hours of treatment.
7. Completes program specialist competency/checklist of expectations, as appropriate to current position. (In-Patient and Work Hardening only)
8. Demonstrates willingness and competency to be cross-trained as appropriate to credentials, licensure, and scope of practice and department need.
9. Assists with orientation of new staff and/or students.
10. Performs other functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate Degree in Occupational Therapist Assistant Program.
2. Completion of specialized training and successful passing of OTA Boards.
3. Attention to detail.
4. Minimum of one clinical rotation in a Rehabilitation Services setting (e.g., Acute Rehab, SNF, Acute Medical, Outpatient, Home Health, and/or Behavioral Health).
5. Current Ohio license and certification by the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy.
6. Valid drivers license and proof of auto liability insurance (HomeCare).
