Job summary

CACTUS is seeking an Editor to leverage subject-matter expertise to refine research manuscripts for publication. You will ensure scientific accuracy and discipline-specific clarity while enhancing language quality, helping researchers worldwide publish in prestigious journals.

Key requirements include a PhD in Medical Physics or Nuclear Medicine, 5–10+ first-author publications, and excellent written English. Prior editing experience is preferred; flexibility in workload is available.

Qualifications

• A PhD degree in Medical Physics or Nuclear Medicine (mandatory).
• Strong publication record, with 5-10 or more first-author publications (mandatory).
• Ability to critically assess study design, methodology, statistics, and interpretation.
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline-specific accuracy.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity and readability of scientific content while preserving the authors' intended meaning.
• Ensure that subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate, consistent, and appropriate for the target audience.
• Improve the presentation of complex research findings to enhance their communication and publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts such that the final text meets the highest standards of academic writing, is free of unclear, illogical, or unidiomatic sentences. Adhere to job-specific guidelines and format manuscripts according to the target journal when required.
