Job summary

CACTUS Communications is seeking an Editor to apply subject-matter expertise to manuscripts, ensuring scientific accuracy and discipline-specific clarity while enhancing language quality for global researchers. You will refine content and adhere to journal guidelines to support publication readiness.

Qualifications

• A PhD degree in Medical Physics or Nuclear Medicine (mandatory)
• Strong publication record, with 5–10 or more first-author publications (mandatory)
• Prior peer review experience
• Ability to critically assess study design, methodology, statistics, and interpretation
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline-specific accuracy
• Excellent written English and attention to detail
• Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is preferred

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve the clarity, coherence, and readability of scientific content while preserving the authors’ intended meaning.
• Ensure that subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate, consistent, and appropriate for the target audience.
• Improve the presentation of complex research findings to enhance their communication and publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts such that the final text meets the highest standards of academic writing, is free of unclear, illogical, or unidiomatic sentences. Adhere to job-specific guidelines and format manuscripts according to the target journal when required.
