Job summary

Arup in Istanbul is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our Mechanical Team for local and international projects. You will participate in building services design, HVAC, public health and firefighting, and coordinate with architects.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, strong English, 3–5 years HVAC and energy modelling experience, and hands-on BIM and energy analysis software skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's in mechanical engineering from reputable universities.
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken.
• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC design, building energy modelling, and sustainable building design.
• Knowledge of BIM software (Navisworks, Solibri, Revit, MagiCAD).
• Experience with energy analyses using software such as HAP, IES, eQUEST and EnergyPlus.
• Experience with parametric design/programming languages (C#, Python) is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and HAP/Trace 700 or similar tools.

We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Istanbul office to strengthen our Mechanical Team for local and international projects.

As a Mechanical Engineer At Arup, You Will

• Involving in building services (mechanical) design activities (HVAC, public health and firefighting) for a broad range of building/project types. The group works with several high-profile architects on a variety of projects.
• Providing interdisciplinary coordination and document production.
• Responsible for preparation of the building services design documents within time and to the highest quality.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about work on a variety of prestigious projects in Türkiye and overseas. We also value:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in mechanical engineering from reputable universities,
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken
• Minimum 3 years up to 5 years of experience in HVAC design, building energy modelling, and sustainable building design,
• Knowledge and experience on Building Information Modelling (BIM) software (Navisworks, Solibri, Revit, Magicad),
• Performing energy analyses using advanced spreadsheets and building simulation software such as HAP, IES, eQUEST and EnergyPlus is required,
• Knowledge and experience on parametric design/programming language (e.g, C#, Python) would be an advantage,
• Working knowledge of computer programs (MS Office, Autocad, HAP, Trace 700 or similar mechanical calculation programs/tools),
• Experience on design to local and major international codes,
• A good grasp of fundamental principles, a willingness to adapt, and develop skills in a wide range of project types,
• Having CFD experiences will be an advantage.
