Job Summary

Performs general park maintenance work at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake such as trash rounds, emptying of trash cans, spreading mulch, housekeeping, park sanitation, line trimming, and prep/clean reservation areas (other duties as assigned). Will operate a variety of small to medium handheld equipment such as power tools, blowers including ride‑behind blowers, pressure washers, water wagon, line/string trimmers. Will operate Toro workman carts, golf carts and city vehicles. Work is performed outdoors and employee is exposed to weather conditions, insects, and various chemicals. Work is performed with limited supervision and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion.

Work Schedule

Must have a flexible schedule and be available seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Schedule is subject to change based on division needs, park schedule, and events.

Minimum Requirements

High school graduate and one (1) year of experience in grounds and general maintenance required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to lift 50 pounds; walk for long periods; bend, and stoop; and tolerate working outdoors. Valid driver’s license is required.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEED.
