Job summary

Beymen Group, a leading luxury fashion retailer in Turkey with a portfolio spanning Beymen, Network and Divarese, invites applications for a senior Legal Counsel role based in Istanbul.

You will draft and negotiate a wide range of Turkish and English-language commercial agreements, advise on regulatory and litigation matters, and partner with business units across retail and e-commerce to protect the company’s interests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and Istanbul Bar Association admission.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in corporate legal departments or law firms advising corporate clients.
• Preference for experience in retail, fashion, luxury goods and/or e-commerce sectors.
• Advanced English and Turkish drafting, negotiation and advisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise and negotiate Turkish and English-language agreements relating to Beymen’s domestic and international operations.
• Provide day-to-day legal support on distribution, brand collaborations, procurement, supply, services, marketing, advertising, sponsorship, licensing, e-commerce and other commercial relationships.
• Identify legal risks arising from the Company’s activities and develop practical, preventive solutions aligned with business needs.
• Review and respond to legal requests from various business units, conduct legal research and provide actionable legal advice.
• Manage and monitor litigation, enforcement proceedings, mediation and other dispute resolution matters with external counsel.
• Provide legal support for IP rights protection and management, including trademarks and licensing across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with local and international external counsel and evaluate external advice in line with the Company’s priorities.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on potential impact to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and admission to the Istanbul Bar Association,
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience gained in the legal department of a corporate organization and/or a law firm advising corporate clients,
• Preferably experienced in the retail, textile, fashion, luxury goods and/or e-commerce sectors,
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Commercial Law, Law of Obligations, Employment Law, Consumer Law, Advertising Law, Intellectual and Industrial Property Law, and Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law,
• Preferably experienced in commercial lease agreements and commercial real estate matters, particularly in connection with retail and store operations,
• Strong track record in drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements in both Turkish and English,
• Experience in distribution, supply, procurement, services, marketing, advertising, sponsorship, licensing and e-commerce agreements would be an asset,
• Advanced proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle legal drafting and correspondence effectively,
• Ability to assess legal risks alongside commercial priorities and provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice,
• Ability to work closely and effectively with business units and understand their operational and commercial needs,
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, representation and negotiation skills, with an analytical and results-oriented mindset,
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a disciplined approach to matter management, reporting and documentation,
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise and negotiate a broad range of Turkish and English-language agreements relating to Beymen’s domestic and international operations,
• Provide day-to-day legal support on distribution arrangements, brand collaborations, procurement, supply, services, marketing, advertising, sponsorship, licensing, e-commerce and other commercial relationships,
• Proactively identify legal risks arising from the Company’s activities and develop practical and preventive solutions aligned with business needs,
• Review and respond to legal requests from various business units, conduct relevant legal research and provide clear, practical and actionable legal advice,
• Manage and monitor litigation, enforcement proceedings, mediation and other dispute resolution matters involving the Company, in coordination with external legal counsel, and ensure regular reporting,
• Provide legal support for the protection and management of intellectual and industrial property rights, including trademark, design, licensing and potential infringement matters,
• Coordinate with local and international external legal counsel and evaluate external legal advice in line with the Company’s legal and commercial priorities,
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess their potential impact on the Company’s operations and provide timely guidance to relevant business units,
• Support legal matters involving international business partners, brands and group companies, working effectively across different jurisdictions and stakeholders.
