Job summary

Tersane Istanbul is seeking an Income Controller to join our Finance team in Istanbul. The role focuses on reviewing and reconciling daily revenue across outlets, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has experience in income audit or revenue control within a luxury hospitality setting, excellent Excel skills, and strong English communication to coordinate with multiple departments. This position supports audit-ready documentation and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in income audit, revenue control, or similar role, preferably in luxury hotels.
• Good knowledge of hotel revenue streams and daily revenue reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify daily revenue reports from all hotel outlets and departments.
• Reconcile daily revenue figures across PMS, POS, and financial reporting systems.
• Verify room revenue, F&B revenue, outlet sales, and other income against documentation.
• Review transactions, discounts, voids, refunds, and rebates for proper authorization.
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with departments for resolution.
• Verify accuracy of payment transactions and reconcile cash and card receipts.
• Review cashier reports, deposits, and outlet closing procedures for controls.
• Monitor revenue posting procedures and correct accounting periods.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reconciliation reports and highlight variances.
• Ensure revenue-related documents are maintained for audits.
• Collaborate with Front Office, F&B, Reservations and others for accurate reporting.
• Support month-end closing with accruals and reconciliations.
• Identify weaknesses in revenue controls and propose improvements.

Job Description

• Review and verify daily revenue reports from all hotel outlets and operational departments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile daily revenue figures across the Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and financial reporting systems.
• Verify room revenue, food and beverage revenue, outlet sales, and other operational income against supporting documentation and system records.
• Review daily transactions, discounts, complimentary items, voids, refunds, allowances, and rebates to ensure proper authorization and accurate recording.
• Investigate revenue discrepancies, identify irregularities, and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution.
• Verify the accuracy of payment transactions and reconcile cash, credit card, and other payment methods against daily revenue reports.
• Review cashier reports, cash deposits, and outlet closing procedures to ensure compliance with established financial controls.
• Monitor revenue posting procedures and ensure that all income is recorded in the correct accounts and accounting periods.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reconciliation reports and highlight significant variances to Finance management.
• Ensure that revenue-related documents, reports, and supporting records are properly maintained and readily available for audit purposes.
• Work closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Reservations, and other operational departments to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
• Support month-end closing activities by verifying revenue accruals, reconciliations, and relevant financial records.
• Identify weaknesses in revenue control procedures and recommend improvements to minimize revenue leakage and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and internal audit requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in income audit, revenue control, income control, or a similar position, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
• Good knowledge of hotel revenue streams, daily revenue reconciliation, cashiering procedures, and internal financial controls.
• Familiarity with hotel management systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and financial reporting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity when handling financial information.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with operational and Finance teams.
• Ability to manage deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
