Job summary

Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran invites a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance cutting-edge projects in engineering and science. The role is full-time and hybrid, with flexibility for some remote work, and involves independent and collaborative research across disciplines.

You will prepare manuscripts, contribute to grant proposals, present results at seminars, mentor students, and help strengthen IUST’s international research profile through open science and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong research skills including experimental design, literature review, and scholarly writing.
• Proficiency in Physics or a closely related field with a solid theoretical and applied background.
• Competence in Laboratory Skills, including safe experimental practices and use of relevant equipment.
• Ability to perform rigorous Data Analysis using appropriate statistical, computational, or simulation tools.
• Experience in Teaching, mentoring, or supervising students in academic or laboratory settings.
• PhD in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline completed or near completion.
• Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
• Effective communication skills in English; additional language skills are an asset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and manage projects with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with research ethics, open science practices, and international collaboration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in engineering and science disciplines.
• Design and execute experiments; analyze data to advance ongoing projects.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication and contribute to grant proposals.
• Present results at seminars and conferences; mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
• Collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners; participate in departmental meetings and academic events.
