Job summary

Damen Shipyards Antalya is seeking a Hull Construction Department Engineer to oversee steel and aluminium hull construction and related outfitting activities. You will work within a dynamic production environment, coordinating with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to technical specifications.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, at least 3 years in shipbuilding or hull production, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering; related engineering discipline considered.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in shipbuilding, steel and/or aluminium construction, or hull production.
• Good knowledge of technical drawings, production processes and shipbuilding practices.
• Experience in subcontractor coordination, production planning and site follow-up.
• Strong planning, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to take ownership, coordinate multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a dynamic production environment.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Previous experience in engineering or design activities is a plus, especially for technical communication with Engineering Department.
• Living in or willing to relocate to Antalya.
• No military service obligation for male candidates.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor steel and aluminium hull construction, as well as related outfitting activities, throughout the production process.
• Prepare and follow up production and construction plans based on drawings, specifications, schedules and delivery targets.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring information flow regarding drawings, specifications, materials and production requirements.
• Monitor fabrication and assembly activities on site, ensuring compliance with quality standards, specifications and schedules.
• Follow up work progress, quality performance, inspections, revisions and corrective actions with production teams.
• Support coordination of vessel and block transportation and turning operations when required.
• Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Production and other departments to resolve technical and operational issues.

Hull Construction Department Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor steel and aluminium hull construction, as well as related outfitting activities, throughout the production process.
• Prepare and follow up production and construction plans based on technical drawings, specifications, project schedules and delivery targets.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring effective information flow regarding drawings, specifications, materials and production requirements.
• Monitor fabrication and assembly activities on site, ensuring compliance with required quality standards, technical specifications and project schedules.
• Follow up work progress, quality performance, inspections, revisions and corrective actions together with the relevant production teams.
• Support the coordination of vessel and block transportation and turning operations when required.
