Job summary

Gülermak Heavy Industries Construction Contracting Co inc in Turkey seeks a Design Chief/Design Manager to lead design activities on international infrastructure projects.

You will coordinate with design teams, consultants, clients and construction teams, oversee interfaces and monitor schedules to ensure timely approvals and constructability.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture, strong leadership, English proficiency, and experience in metro/rail/tunnel projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture.
• Experience in design management and coordination for large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience as Design Chief or Design Manager or similar role.
• Experience in metro, railway or tunnel projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary design processes, international standards and technical specifications.
• Ability to coordinate design activities with construction teams.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate design activities in line with contract requirements, technical specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with design teams, consultants, the client and construction teams.
• Manage multidisciplinary design interfaces and ensure consistency across design deliverables.
• Monitor design schedules, submissions and approvals in line with project milestones.
• Review designs for technical compliance, constructability and site requirements.
• Evaluate design changes in terms of cost, schedule and construction methods.
• Coordinate the resolution of technical queries and design-related issues during construction.
• Lead design coordination meetings and report on design progress.
