Job summary

Karadeniz Holding, via its Karpowership unit, is seeking a Fleet Commercial Manager to lead LNG and tanker fleet operations. You will drive chartering, negotiate agreements, and design logistics solutions for new powership markets.

Role requires 8–10 years in tanker chartering, strong leadership, and international experience; English fluency is essential. Hybrid work model, with global responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in tanker chartering and commercial shipping operations.
• Proven leadership in commercial and operational activities within tanker/LNG or energy sectors.
• Knowledge of tanker charter parties, freight markets, bunker procurement, and marine logistics.
• Experience developing operational procedures, performance management, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of maritime law, insurance, claims handling, and international shipping regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership with coaching and team development.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of LNG and tanker fleet.
• Maximize fleet utilization by balancing internal requirements with third-party chartering.
• Develop relationships with shipowners, brokers, traders, and partners.
• Negotiate charter parties and commercial agreements.
• Support commercial development of new powership projects with logistics designs.
• Define and execute bunker procurement strategies for the global fleet.
• Identify arbitrage and trading opportunities to optimize fuel costs and returns.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and bunker counterparts.
• Oversee tanker operations and monitor fleet performance for cost savings.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a chartering and operations team.
• Coordinate with technical, operations, finance, and project teams.

To be employed within Fuel and Tanker Fleet Directorate, we are looking for a “Fleet Commercial Manager” with the following qualifications:

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in tanker chartering and commercial shipping operations.
• Proven experience leading commercial and operational activities within the tanker, LNG, or energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of tanker charter parties, freight markets, bunker procurement, and marine logistics.
• Experience in developing operational procedures, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Practical knowledge of maritime law, insurance, claims handling, and international shipping regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify new business opportunities.
• Resilient, adaptable, and capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

• Monitor fleet performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing chartering and operations team.
• Set priorities, allocate resources, and support the professional growth of team members.
• Foster collaboration across departments and international offices.

5. Process Excellence

• Drive operational excellence through process development and standardization.
• Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and applicable maritime regulations.
