Job summary

City of Tucson’s Fire Department seeks an Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor to lead the maintenance, repair, and modification of emergency response vehicles and components. You will supervise staff, schedule work, review workflows, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards.

The role requires coordinating inspections, safety training, and managing timekeeping, certifications, and recalls, with opportunities to advance through ASE and EVT tier certifications.

Qualifications

• 4 years of direct supervisory/lead experience
• Valid and Unrestricted Class D operators license
• Ability to lift equipment and materials up to 75lbs
• Completion of the City of Tucson Supervisor Training Program after hire
• Section 609 Air Conditioning Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling certification within 30 days of hire
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Shift work, weekends, holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Supervises, schedules, and evaluates repair and maintenance tasks for multiple employees on an assigned shift.
• Coordinates safety meetings and oversees safety-related activities; leads daily meetings to review workflows.
• Prepares preventive maintenance and fleet status reports; manages work orders and assigns tasks.
• Ensures work area cleanliness and safety; manages vehicle recalls and inspections.
• Coordinates with vendors on estimates and outsourced maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds.
• Performs employee performance evaluations and oversees personnel issues with HR.
• Manages timekeeping, leave requests, and certification tracking.
