Job summary

Alstom in Türkiye seeks an EHS Project Manager to lead environmental, health and safety strategies on major projects, ensuring risk-free working environments and compliance with AZDP, TOPE, and ISO standards.

You will coach teams, manage EHS plans, audits and reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to embed safety across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing EHS programs in industrial or infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and international standards such as ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Strong leadership with the ability to influence diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead project-level Environmental, Health, and Safety strategies to create risk-free working environments.
• Support Project Management in achieving EHS performance.
• Ensure EHS Risk Assessments are done and mitigations defined for the project.
• Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans at project level.
• Monitor subcontractor activities to maintain EHS controls across interfaces.
• Stop any operation with immediate high risk to people or the environment when needed.
• Coach and assess EHS teams within the project and projects.
• Collaborate with HR for EHS training plans and local communication.
• Ensure deployment of AZDP, TOPE, and Alstom processes at project level.

Your Role, Your Impact

• Lead project-level Environmental, Health, and Safety strategies to create risk-free working environments.
• Support Project Management in achieving EHS performance
• Ensure EHS Risk Assessment is done & appropriate measures to control risks are defined for the Project and Projects.
• Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans at Project level. Ensure it is done at Project level.
• Make sure activities of sub-contractors are under control with respect to EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas.
• Has full authority and must stop any operational activity resulting in immediate high risk to People or the Environment.
• Assist, coach and assess the EHS teams in the project and projects.
• Involve social and medical partners and communicate with them about EHS
• Support EHS project staffing delivers EHS support during project execution and perform audit of EHS plan implementation during the execution phases of projects managed from the Project.
• Ensure that Alstom EHS standards and tools (Alstom Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP), Transport Operational Performance in Environment (TOPE), and Alstom Key processes) are deployed at Project level.
• Monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements & propose actions to correct any gap
• Maintain appropriate records and documentation of the Project.
• Monitor historical pollution & associated risks
• Build the project EHS communication plan
• Prepare and implement an EHS training plan and program with the support from HR and a local EHS communication plan.
• Ensure that Accidents/Incidents are first prevented, and when occurring, reported, recorded, investigated and analyzed. Establish and communicate REX reports in case of severe or potentially severe accidents.
• Prepare and submit monthly EHS reports. Feed EHS reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements. Is accountable for data quality of the Project & associated projects.
• Ensure compliance with local and international EHS regulations throughout all project phases.
• Train and mentor teams on safety culture and sustainability best practices.
• Identify hazards proactively and implement preventive measures to protect people and the environment.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to embed safety into every process.
• You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility —making travel safer and greener as an EHS Project Manager.
